“I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments.” – Colossians 2:4

Imagine a debate about whether a certain poison is good or bad for health. In this debate, those who speak in favor of the poison present a stronger case and appear to have won. However, the truth of the matter is that anyone convinced by the well-crafted, well-presented argument and decides to drink the poison will only harm themselves.

Just because a presenter is confident, popular, and charming, and they present a convincing case for something harmful, does not make that thing good for you. The truth is often not the most publicized matter; rather, it is a treasure that needs to be sought with one’s whole heart, mind, and soul. The one who sincerely seeks after God and feeds on His word will be given the wisdom to discern between truth and deception.
