“…I do believe; help my unbelief!” – Mark 9:24

The father had brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus, confessing that the disciples had failed to heal him. Jesus, grieved by the unbelief around Him, declared, “All things are possible for one who believes.” In response, the desperate father cried out, “I do believe; help my unbelief!” It was an honest confession—he had faith, but it was imperfect, clouded by fear and pain.

How often do we find ourselves in the same place? We believe in God, yet when faced with persistent problems, unanswered prayers, or impossible situations, doubt creeps in. Our faith falters—not entirely gone, but not whole either. We wrestle with belief and unbelief, trusting yet trembling. Jesus does not turn away from such honesty. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. In moments of weakness, let us come to Him, just as we are, and pray earnestly, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”.
