Jesus spoke of the signs that would signal the end of the age and His return. Wars, rumours of wars, earthquakes, and famines are only the beginning of birth pains. Yet one sign stands above them all—the preaching of the gospel to every nation.
The Lord is not slow in fulfilling His promise to return. Instead, He is patient, desiring that no one should perish, but that all should come to repentance. His heart longs for every tribe and tongue to hear of His love, His grace, and the salvation offered through the blood of His cross. When the good news has reached the ends of the earth, His return will come suddenly, when the world least expects it. Let the kindness and mercy of God draw us into repentance, and may we live in trusting surrender to His love as we await the fulfilment of His promise.
