“Be on your guard and stay alert! For you do not know when the appointed time will come.” – Mark 13:33

Jesus warned His disciples about the signs of the end of the age, yet He made one thing clear: the exact time of His return was not for them to know. Instead, He called them to remain alert and faithful. Like stewards entrusted with their master’s property, He exhorted them to live every day for God’s glory—vigilant, diligent, and wise in how they used their time.

Waiting can test our hearts. When days stretch into years, complacency and distraction easily creep in. The tempter whispers lies, and the world lulls us into spiritual slumber. But God calls us to a higher vigilance. Life is fleeting, and the moment will come when we each stand before our Maker. Let us guard our hearts, resist deception, and faithfully live out our calling, so that when the appointed time arrives, we will be found watchful, ready, and pleasing to Him.
