“There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.” – Proverbs 30:12

We live in a time where moral standards shift daily. What was once condemned as sin is now accepted as normal. Society tells us that if something feels right, then it must be right for you. But God does not change, nor do His standards. What was wrong yesterday is still wrong today.

The greatest danger is self-deception—believing we are clean when our hearts remain stained with sin. When we justify ourselves, we close the door to repentance and deny God the chance to cleanse us. But His Word reveals His truth, and His Spirit convicts us of sin, offering us the opportunity to turn back, receive forgiveness, and be made clean. It is far better to let God search our hearts now and expose what is hidden than to face His judgment unprepared. True cleansing starts when we allow God to search our hearts according to His standards.
