“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting…” – Proverbs 31:30

How many women have trusted a so-called “prince charming,” only to discover too late the emptiness of his character? And how many men have pursued outward beauty, only to regret that goodness was only skin-deep? Almost daily we hear of people deceived—whether in person or online—by charm and appearance, paying dearly for their folly.

Scripture warns us not to be swayed by what dazzles the eyes. Charm fades, beauty passes, but a heart anchored in God’s fear endures. True worth is found not in outward attraction but in inner character shaped by the Lord. As we learn to discern others beyond their outward image, we must also examine ourselves. Though time will diminish physical beauty, the inner person can grow richer in the likeness of Christ. Let us pursue that beauty which does not fade—the beauty of a heart devoted to God.
