“…If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.” – Isaiah 7:9

Isaiah delivered this word to King Ahaz of Judah when two powerful kings threatened war against him. Instead of trusting God’s promise, Ahaz sought help from the wicked king of Assyria. Yet what he leaned on for support became the very force that weakened and destabilized his kingdom.

When we face trials, it is tempting to rely on our own wisdom, resources, or alliances. Fear can drive us to quick fixes that seem secure in the moment but ultimately lead us astray. God’s call is different: “Calm down and be quiet.” Trust Him, not your fears. Faith is not merely believing that God exists—it is resting in His promises when circumstances shout otherwise. If we do not stand firm in faith, we will stumble. But when we choose to trust Him through life’s storms, He establishes our steps and secures our future.
