Isaiah spoke to a people who had turned away from the One who had redeemed them. Though God had delivered them from bondage and protected them countless times, they chose self-reliance over divine trust. Their efforts, though great, bore no lasting fruit because they were rooted in pride, not in God.
How often do we do the same—striving, stressing, and exhausting ourselves, trying to build a life apart from the very Source of life? When we forget God’s goodness and depend on our own strength, peace slips away, and our work feels empty. But it’s never too late to return. The God of your salvation still calls you to rest in Him. Let Him be your Rock and Refuge once more. In His strength, your life will find true stability, joy, and lasting abundance.
