The people of Cush were strong, self-reliant, and secure—yet far from God. But when the Assyrian threat arose, the Lord Himself intervened on their behalf. Those who once stood distant would be drawn near to witness His grace and power.
Many of us, like Cush, build our confidence on our own abilities and accomplishments. We feel capable, until life shakes our foundation—when strength fails, purity wavers, and our world begins to crumble. Yet it is in that very moment of brokenness that God’s mercy reaches out. He does not despise our weakness but uses it to reveal our need for Him. When you surrender your self-reliance and bring your heart as an offering, it becomes the most precious gift—a life humbled, redeemed, and devoted to the One who gave His life for you.
