“A good name is more desirable than great riches; favor is better than silver and gold.” – Proverbs 22:1

In today’s world, scandals and corruption often make headlines. People once respected lose their reputation in the pursuit of wealth. Families too are torn apart by disputes over inheritance and possessions. What remains is a trail of broken relationships and tarnished names, sometimes beyond repair.

Scripture reminds us that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. When riches become the ultimate goal, integrity is sacrificed, health is neglected, and trust is destroyed. Yet, what value do silver and gold hold if one’s character is stained and God’s favor lost? A good name, marked by integrity and faithfulness, is worth far more than temporary wealth. True riches are found in walking with God, whose presence is the greatest treasure. Choose godliness and contentment, for He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. That assurance is worth more than all the riches of this world.
