“…always wrestling in prayer for you, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in the full will of God.” – Colossians 4:12

Epaphras was a faithful minister of the Lord who genuinely cared for the believers in Colossae. He prayed for them regularly, with deep concern and earnestness. Yet, his prayers were not focused on their earthly circumstances but rather on their spiritual growth and the fulfilment of God’s purposes.

What do we most often pray about? Our prayers reveal the priorities of our hearts. If we reflect honestly, we may find that many of our prayers revolve around temporal concerns—material needs, career advancements, health challenges, academic struggles, and workplace difficulties. While these matters are important, true concern for others and us should compel us to pray urgently and fervently for increasing spiritual maturity. Our prayers should reflect a deep desire for transformation, a clearer discernment of God’s will, and a life that bears fruit, bringing glory to Him.
