To love God is to have the desire to know Him and His will for our lives. Making assumptions about God’s likes and dislikes based on our own opinions and ideas is to create a god of our own preference. If we are serious about loving God, we need to strive to know more about Him, get closer to Him, and seek His will for our lives.
God has given us Jesus so that we can be washed of our sins and draw near to Him. He has provided us with His scriptures so that we can be enlightened, corrected, and equipped to do His good pleasure. As we earnestly seek His face in prayer and meditate on His Word with surrendered hearts, His Spirit will fill us with the knowledge of His perfect will for our lives.
