In Isaiah’s time, Judah faced the threat of invading armies. Rumours and conspiracy theories spread like wildfire, weakening hearts and stirring unrest. Yet, instead of turning to God, the people allowed fear to rule their minds.
The same is true today. In a world filled with uncertainty, fearmongering voices are quick to magnify crises and spread panic. But Scripture warns us not to be carried away by the same dread that grips others. If we do not fear God with reverence, we will end up fearing everything else. When our trust is rooted in His sovereignty and goodness, rumours lose their power, and conspiracies cannot shake our faith. Fix your eyes on the Lord. Let Him be your refuge and strength. Live not in dread, but in holy confidence, walking steadfastly in the path of righteousness.
