Poisons have the power to disrupt the lives of even healthy individuals. While most poisonings are abrupt and dramatic, some poisons enter our bodies in small amounts but accumulate over time, causing devastating effects on our health.
Bitterness is one such poison. When we take offense to the actions of others and refuse to forgive them from our hearts, it sows seeds of bitterness. It is a seed planted inconspicuously and watered by the constant recollection of others’ wrongdoings. Gradually, it takes root in your heart and controls your mind. Have you allowed bitterness to grow unchecked in your heart? It is time to tear it out by the roots and expose your heart to the healing grace of Jesus. His grace will empower you to bear, love, and forgive.
