“For the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.” – Proverbs 3:12

aug 25

A loving father corrects his child not out of anger, but out of deep care. He does not discipline someone else’s child, for they are not his own. But his son, whom he delights in, he trains and corrects so that he may grow into maturity, learning wisdom and avoiding harmful ways.

In the same way, our Heavenly Father disciplines us. His correction is not rejection, but evidence of His love and ownership. The Lord’s compassion is steadfast, yet His love does not spare us from correction, because discipline is the pathway to growth. He desires to shape us into the likeness of Christ and draw us away from foolishness toward righteousness. So, when God corrects you, do not despise it. Receive His discipline with humility, for it is His love at work—forming you into the person He created you to be.
