“For whoever has will be given more. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” – Mark 4:25

Jesus had been speaking to Jews who had a foundational understanding of God and spirituality. But when He began to address matters of the heart, some scorned and rejected His words, while others received them with openness. To those who embraced His word, more was given. But to those who rejected it, even the little foundation they had began to crumble 

We must pay careful attention to the words we hear, read, and accept into our hearts. God does not impose His word on unwilling hearts. When we listen eagerly, understand, and apply His truth, He entrusts us with more. But if we are indifferent or disobedient, even the little we have can be lost. Our godliness and spiritual maturity are directly tied to how we hear and obey God’s word each day.
