The demon-possessed man appeared unstoppable. No chain could hold him, and no one dared approach him. Yet, despite his outward strength, he was a captive—enslaved by the demons that tormented his mind and drove him to self-destruction. His power was a facade; behind it lay deep bondage.
Like him, fallen humanity often craves power, influence, or independence—mistaking control for freedom. But breaking free from earthly constraints doesn’t mean true liberation. In truth, everyone is a servant—either to sin or to the Savior. No one is truly free without surrendering to Christ. Don’t chase the illusion of being your own master. Power apart from God only deepens your chains. True freedom is found in coming to Jesus with your weakness and surrender to His love. Only then will you know the peace, joy, and liberty you were created for.
