“…He will strike them but heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and He will hear their prayers and heal them.” – Isaiah 19:22

Isaiah spoke of a proud nation that trusted in its own strength and oppressed others. Yet even in judgment, God’s purpose was mercy. He longed for them to turn from rebellion and find healing in Him. Sometimes, God allows pain to break our pride and awaken us to our need for Him. As the psalmist said, “It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn Your decrees.”

In our moments of weakness and affliction, God’s hand is not against us but upon us—guiding us toward repentance and restoration. The greatest healing, however, comes not from our wounds but from the wounds of Christ. “It pleased the Lord to bruise Him.” Through His stripes, we are made whole. Let your pain and His sacrifice draw you nearer to the One who strikes to heal.
