When one becomes a child of God, they do not experience an overnight transformation. Although they become a dwelling place for the Spirit of God, they need to grow from one level to the next until they attain maturity. This is God’s desire for us: that we may grow in the qualities of His divine nature and into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
It is the proclaimed message of the grace of Christ that both initiates and sustains our journey of faith. As we grow in the knowledge of His word, we gain spiritual wisdom that warns us when we are wrong and encourages us to walk in His life-giving truth. By leaning on His grace, we unlearn our wrong ways and learn to do what pleases Him hoping for that day when we will stand mature in His presence with much joy.
