“…Jesus appeared to the Eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.” – Mark 16:14

aug 22

When Mary Magdalene and other followers testified that Jesus had risen, the disciples refused to believe. Their hearts were hardened, unwilling to accept God’s miraculous work. Jesus lovingly rebuked them, exposing their unbelief.

We, too, can fall into the same trap—dismissing the testimony of faithful witnesses when it challenges our worldview. Yet history bears overwhelming evidence: more than five hundred people saw the risen Christ. His disciples, once fearful, boldly proclaimed His resurrection, even to the point of martyrdom. No one dies for a lie of their own making. Their sacrifice compels us to take their witness seriously. The risen Jesus calls us not to doubt but to believe. Today, the choice remains—will you harden your heart, or will you love and follow the living Lord?
