“John was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locust and wild honey.” – Mark 1:6

John the Baptist was the last person anyone would expect to make a nationwide impact. His sense of style was abysmal, and his diet was far from appetizing. Yet, people from all over the country came to hear him. His preaching was so powerful that it moved many to confess their sins and seek a change in their lives.

We chase the latest fashions to present ourselves in a way we hope will leave a lasting impression. We dine on the choicest foods in the most exclusive places, using them as symbols of our status in society. But none of these things have the power to create a meaningful, lasting impact on the souls of others. When Christ becomes the food you hunger for and the water you thirst for—when His desires become your own—you will begin to make a transformative difference in this world.
