The Apostle Paul introduces us to two of his coworkers in the ministry of the gospel—Luke and Demas. However, as time goes on, we see them take very different paths. Luke is remembered as the beloved physician while Demas captivated by the deceptive allure of the world, strays from the path God had called him to walk (2 Timothy 4:10,11)
The end of your journey is far more important than your start. You may have had a rough start or find yourself in a mess right now. But there is hope when you put your trust in Jesus and choose to walk in the light of God’s love for the rest of your days. Conversely, it would be a tragedy to start off well but later fall into the snares of this world’s empty promises. That’s why the journey of faith requires devotion and dedication— striving purposefully with your eyes fixed on Jesus, with the strength that God gives to finish the race with joy and fulfilment.
