A leper, in desperation, approached Jesus seeking healing. In biblical times, “leprosy” encompassed various skin diseases, and those afflicted were required to live in isolation—separated from the community to prevent the risk of contamination. Enduring such conditions for years inevitably led to profound feelings of rejection, discouragement, and despair. Yet this man came in faith, recognizing Jesus as his only hope. Moved by compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him, cleansing and healing him of his affliction. When Jesus touches the unclean, He is not defiled; instead, He makes the unclean clean.
