When Jesus sent out His disciples, He empowered them to fulfill His mission to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons. Yet at the heart of their ministry was one essential message: repentance—a turning away from sin and a turning toward God.
While miracles and healings drew crowds, true transformation begins with repentance. It remains the doorway into the kingdom of God. Demons may be cast out, but if the heart is not surrendered to God, they will return. Physical healing is a blessing, but it does not guarantee eternal life. It is only when we hear the gospel and become convicted of our sinfulness that we are filled with a longing for the Savior of our souls. Only through repentance and returning can Christ cleanse our hearts and transform our minds, making us worthy citizens of His kingdom.
