“…Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?” – Mark 4:38

Under Jesus’ direction, the disciples set out across the lake. But midway, a fierce storm rose, and fear gripped their hearts. As they struggled against the waves, Jesus slept peacefully at the stern. To them, it seemed He didn’t care. Their eyes were fixed on the storm, not on the Savior in their boat.

We often feel the same in life’s storms—anxious, overwhelmed, and wondering if God notices. But peace isn’t found in calm circumstances; it’s found in a steadfast Savior. The disciples forgot who Jesus was in that moment—the One who commands the wind and waves. Isaiah 26:3 reminds us, “You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You.” When we fix our minds on Jesus, not the chaos around us, He gives us peace that surpasses understanding. Trust Him. He’s in your boat—and He cares.
