We are all created in the image of God, designed to be relational beings who thrive in an atmosphere of love. Encouragement is essential in our lives—it strengthens us to persevere on the path God has called us to walk.
When discord and disharmony arise in our relationships, we become vulnerable to discouraging and demotivating thoughts and words. But in an atmosphere of genuine love, we learn to bear with one another, overlook each other’s faults, and offer encouragement for one another’s good. However, we cannot generate this selfless love on our own, for we are imperfect, and we struggle to love imperfect people. That is why we must continually come before the throne of grace, asking the God of all love to knit our hearts together so that we may be strengthened and encouraged amid life’s struggles.
