People without hope tend to become people without faith and love. If I have nothing to hope for, I have nothing to believe in and nothing worth loving or living for. Furthermore, if my hope is in the temporary glories of this world, my faith and love will be limited in scope.
God offers us an eternal hope through Christ Jesus. This hope is one we do not deserve in our unrighteousness, yet it has been made possible by God’s love. When this eternal hope becomes the anchor of our soul, our faith remains strong, no longer tossed around by fears and doubts. This undeserved eternal hope frees and motivates us to love deeply, just as we have been loved by God.
