After being miraculously delivered, the man longed to stay with Jesus. Yet Jesus told him to return home and tell others what God had done for him. Though unexpected, the man obeyed—and became the first missionary to the Gentiles.
Sometimes we feel hurt or confused when God doesn’t allow us to serve Him in ways we desire. We may think our plans are noble, even spiritual. But God, in His wisdom, often redirects us. When doors close, it’s not rejection—it’s redirection. The key is a heart surrendered to His will. If we truly understand what Jesus has done for us, we’ll desire to serve Him wherever He leads. When our hearts are right—pure and devoted—He will guide our steps. Even when it’s not the path we imagined, we can trust His way is best. Let us respond not with resistance, but with joyful obedience, knowing His plan is always perfect.
