“…The One I kiss is the man; arrest Him and lead Him away securely.” Judas the Betrayer – Mark 14:44

aug 12

When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, they needed Judas to point Him out. Jesus didn’t stand apart with an obvious glow or regal air. He looked like any other man—ordinary in appearance, yet extraordinary within. The Scriptures remind us, “There was nothing in His form that we should desire Him” (Isaiah 53:2). Though He was Master and Teacher, He stood among His disciples as one who served. His humility was so profound that an identifying kiss was needed for His captors.

In our leadership roles—whether in family, workplace, or ministry—do people see a servant’s heart, or do they only see someone unapproachable, perched high above them? True greatness is not found in asserting authority, but in stooping low to serve. Let us follow Christ’s example—leading without pride, walking humbly with our God, and being so close to others that no sign is needed to identify us as servants of the King.
