Jonah the prophet was given a difficult mission,
To talk about God to a wicked enemy nation;
He decided that to God’s voice he would no longer listen,
So he planned to run away from God’s presence;
His boat was caught in a storm on its way to Tarshish,
Thrown overboard and drowning in the water, God provided a big fish,
To save the life of one who had chosen to be a deserter,
To give him a second chance to repent and obey His Creator;
Are you drowning under the weight of your sin and rebellion?
Do you feel there is no way now for God to offer forgiveness?
Know that God longs for your return, for He is merciful and gracious,
He is abounding in love and He is the God of endless second chances.
