“Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” – Colossians 3:1

God has planted eternity in the hearts of mankind (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Within each of us is an inherent sense that there is something beyond this fleeting life on earth. Yet, we often spend much of our lives chasing after the temporary things of this world. We do this, perhaps, because we lack the assurance of the better things to come. 

When we entrust our lives to Jesus, we are reborn through the resurrection power of Christ. We come to understand the glorious, eternal riches available to those who believe in Him. To fix our minds on the temporal things of this world while neglecting matters of eternal value is folly. However, being heavenly-minded requires deliberate effort on our part, for this world has a way of drawing us in, demanding our time and devotion.
