Judas had walked with Jesus for over three years, witnessing miracles, hearing His teachings, and experiencing His love. Yet, a desire to advance himself and gain worldly benefit led him to betray the Lord into the hands of wicked but powerful leaders. They were delighted at his offer and promised him a reward.
In life, we too may face moments where we feel stuck, overlooked, or tempted to take shortcuts for personal gain. The world will often applaud and encourage you down the wrong path, making sin seem appealing and rewarding. But Scripture warns us: “Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; it takes away the life of its possessors” (Proverbs 1:19). Though compromise may offer immediate rewards, it always leads to lasting loss. Instead, choose faithfulness and trust that God’s timing and blessings far surpass any fleeting gain offered by the world.
