The prophet Isaiah wrote during turbulent times in Judah around 700 B.C. His message was first for God’s people in Jerusalem, but it still speaks to us today. Sin brings destruction, not only to individuals but to entire nations. Yet, God’s love and redemption stretch even further than sin’s reach.
Isaiah’s ministry was not easy. Tradition holds that he was executed during the reign of Manasseh, but his courage never wavered. He called God’s people to repent and return, promising that renewal awaited those who turned back. More than that, Isaiah spoke with remarkable clarity of the coming Messiah—the One who would shine light into deep darkness and bring salvation to all who believe. God’s promise in Isaiah 1:18 still rings true: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” In Christ, the stain of guilt is washed away, and we find hope, renewal, and eternal life.
