God, in His sovereignty, has assigned us to be His coworkers in His work of reconciling mankind to Himself. Consequently, our service to God should be based on our partnership with Him, where we sincerely and wholeheartedly carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us with the strength He provides.
My service to fulfil God’s purpose involves all my efforts powered by Christ’s energy. If my service is entirely the effort of my flesh, I will boast and take all the glory for what is accomplished. On the other hand, if I expect God to do everything, I will be lazy and laid back. Therefore, I depend entirely on the all-sufficient grace of Christ, but I also put in the effort and hard work so that when the work is done, I can give God the glory and thank Him for the privilege of labouring for Him.
