The Pharisees demanded a sign from Jesus before they would believe in Him. Despite all His miracles, the testimony of John the Baptist, and fulfilled prophecies, they refused to believe in Jesus. Their hearts were hardened, unwilling to accept the truth already before them.
Today, we often do the same. We set conditions for our faith: “God, if You give me a sign, then I’ll believe.” “If You solve this problem or bless me in this way, then I’ll trust You.” But God has already provided more than enough evidence. His handiwork is seen in creation—in the precision of the universe and the code of life in our DNA. His power and love were displayed perfectly in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, a truth confirmed in history. There is no more sign that heaven is required to give. What remains is for us to humble our hearts and simply believe.
